OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. The Maintenance Worker will report to the Lead Housekeeping and Maintenance Worker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain facility in a safe, functional and presentable manner and complete all maintenance service requests as assigned;
- Assist in performing general repair/maintenance to include, but not limited to electrical, building, plumbing, landscaping, painting, carpentry, and basic remodeling.;
- Assist in maintaining inventory and security of all maintenance equipment and supplies related to the facility and grounds;
- Request maintenance supplies and equipment as needed from supervisor or designee;
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created;
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas, and gather and remove litter;
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways and other grounds features;
- Ensure compliance of all work-related activities, following establish policies, local, state and federal guidelines;
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned; and
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Two years’ experience in maintenance work and knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, basic construction knowledge and skills;
- Must pass a criminal background, child abuse and neglect registry clearance and other screening requirements including health assessment, Tuberculosis test and drugs test;
- Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as the position requires on call rotation with staff.
- Valid state issued driver’s license and auto insurance is required;
- Support all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies; and
- Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training;
- Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory training; and
- Complete additional training as identified by supervisor, Program Director or Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
- Occasional lifting (up to 75 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying;
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements); and
- Requires activities involving moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
