Custodian I

and Duties Under the general supervision of the Administrative Sergeant, the Custodian I the overall cleanliness and appearance of the building and grounds. The Custodian performs janitorial tasks, performs scheduled cleaning and maintenance of the Area office and/or grounds, is responsible for cleaning each room thoroughly, maintains and reviews Manufacturer Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), cleans exterior of building including washing windows, and assists in moving and/or arranging furniture and equipment as needed. Overlooks and maintains stock and ordering of janitorial supplies. Performs minor janitorial equipment repairs to keep equipment in safe working order.

Working Conditions

This position is a half-time (1/2) position. The employee will work both indoors and outdoors. While indoors, the temperature and humidity are reasonably controlled, but while outdoors, the employee is exposed to climatic conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to toxic materials.
