Job Overview

A leadership role responsible for assisting the Banquet Management Team with the execution of events and leads the banquet team. Consistently ensures proper set up, maintenance, and break down of all banquet services. Assist with the development and implementing of service staff training standards. Ability to understand and communicate food and beverage selections, have a team focus mentality, adhere to clubs standards of service, maintain a professional appearance and clean work environment, as well as, display a positive and friendly attitude. Serves as MOD when managers arent present.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include supervising, directing, coaching, and training employees (CCOS & Temporary); planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervision of all banquet team members.
  • Examines rooms, stations, and service areas and makes sure they are clean and fully stocked for service.
  • Checks all banquet rooms and storage areas at beginning and end of shift and ensures showready standards.
  • Reports to management any and all changes, concerns, or actions taken.
  • Ensure all opening/closing duties have been completed. Ensures all rooms are flipped according to schedule.
  • Set up for events by putting out and arranging tables, place settings, setting up buffets, AV equipment and other event equipment.
  • Keeps open lines of communication with our Culinary Team to ensure proper food counts, item names, timeline of events, and equipment needed.
  • Ensure that all silverware, glasses, base plates and china are polished and set according to club standards.
  • To efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner. To follow the service sequence and standards of the club, according to the training manual.
  • To ensure all service stations and/or assigned areas are stocked and maintained with silverware, china, sugar, creamers, tea box, iced tea and coffee, etc. according to club standards.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness by completing and assigning cleaning tasks and breakdown of service.
  • Attends/leads pre-service training (line-up meeting).
  • Assists with inventory and upkeep of beverages and equipment.
  • Adherence to Clubs uniform and grooming policy.
  • Knowledge of, respect for, adherence to, and enforce all staff privileges and responsibilities.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by manager on duty.

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience / License / Qualifications:

  • Previous server or banquet server experience required.
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and be coachable.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
  • Local Pouring Permit.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to speak and hear.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent walking with some standing at times.
  • Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances.
  • Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.

Working Conditions

  • May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on outlet.
  • Varied weather conditions are expected.
  • May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates. Mandatory holidays include: Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th, Easter, Mothers Day, Thanksgiving, Member-Member, Member Guest, Dickens Dinner & New Years Eve
