The Facility Maintenance Tech IV will be responsible for advanced level work, necessary to maintain the service life of company assets such as physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, utilities, and grounds in an operative and safe working condition.

In addition, the Facility Maintenance Tech IV will provide Plant Engineering leadership in the absence of the manager or supervisor, and will direct the work of other technicians as necessary to accomplish needed tasks.

  • Proven supervisory experience with a desire to further develop your leadership abilities.

  • Expertise in the design, operation, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Strong understanding of building, electrical, and fire codes, as well as The Joint Commission’s Environment of Care standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.


Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Associate degree in a related field (HVAC, Mechanical, etc.) or 2 years of formal, documented apprenticeship in plant operations/maintenance within a healthcare facility (preferred)

Experience

  • 10+ years performing plant operations and general maintenance in a healthcare facility or similar environment (required)

  • Supervisory experience (preferred)

Required Skills

  • Ability to complete both generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing

  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction standards

  • Proficient with a wide variety of hand and power tools used in facility maintenance

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of all cultures and authority levels

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in the design, operation, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment

  • Knowledge of building, electrical, and fire codes, plus The Joint Commission Environment of Care standards

  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics

Required Licensure

  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license
