About us:

Shelly's Echo Inn is a family-owned and operated business since the 80's in the beautiful town of Carver. We are that small-town bar feel with restaurant quality food.

Position Summary:
Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot and cold menu item plates.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
-Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
-Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. Restock items as needed throughout the shift.

-Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently.
-Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area.
-Possess full understanding of health code standards and safe food-handling procedures.
-Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
-Handles, stores, date and rotates all products properly.
-Use our Standard Recipe book for preparing all products.
-Maintain proper cooling charts and labeling of prepped foods according to restaurant standards.
-Understand our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
-Open or closes the kitchen depending on shift. Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment.
-Performs other related duties as assigned by the owner.
-Maintain bus-tubs, glass racks, and restock all glassware as needed.
-Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, silverware, glassware, maintains all restaurant equipment as directed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
At least 6 months experience in a similar job capacity preferred.
Must be able to communicate clearly owner, bartenders, and kitchen personnel.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift-up to 40 pounds.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Oregon Food Handlers Card Within 30 days of employment.
