The Position

Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) is a drug product & finished goods manufacturing organization responsible for the reliable delivery of Roches commercial portfolio & pipeline products. The Operations organization at HTO is divided into 2 value streams, which combine to produce millions of units of life-saving medicine every year to patients around the world.

This position is located on-site in Hillsboro.

Day Shift- 7:00 am to 5:30 pm (Mon - Thu)

The Opportunity:

As a Maintenance Specialist, you will maintain, assemble, install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic devices on pharmaceutical production equipment. Lead or assist on major equipment overhauls and testing, repairs, and installations. Advance troubleshooting of pumps, motors, valves, actuators, gears, piping and pneumatic systems, conveyors and robotics. Maintain and optimize mechanical drive trains and vacuum generation & distribution systems. Utilize 3D cad programs to design parts and fabricate the parts using a typical machinist tools (lathe, mill, etc.) including 3D printing. Welding activities including stainless steel, aluminum and mild steel.

  • You will lead or assist with preventative maintenance, upgrades, repairs, and installations of advanced equipment.

  • Provide support to engineering and operations in the design, installation, testing, operation and maintenance of packaging, inspection and manufacturing equipment.

  • You will provide machinist fabrication knowledge and expertise in the arena of 3D cad, welding, mill work, lathe work, robotics and 3D printing.

  • Demonstrates full ability to partner with and become a resource to customers. Anticipates, identifies and defines needs. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of customers problems.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

  • Advanced documentation skills are necessary to maintain system information at a superior level.

  • Perform troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.

  • Working knowledge of electrical switchgear and distribution systems in the medium to low voltage range.

  • Individuals should also possess the ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering documents, understand P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram), and operate/troubleshoot Delta-V, MES systems and equipment HMIs.

  • Demonstrates full ability to identify and implement more complex process improvements within each functional group which improves inspection readiness, productivity, reduces time bound maintenance, or eliminates non-value added activities. Ability to use project management skills to complete improvement projects by their due dates.

Who you are:

Education:

  • Graduate of a two-year Associates Degree program in Electrical/Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).

Experience: 0-2 years

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations

  • You will comply with cGMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Genentech standards.

  • Practical understanding of OSHA, NEC, State and Federal regulations as applied to the equipment and operation.

  • You are able to lift 50 pounds, and stand for an extended period of time.

  • Must perform lock out tag (LOTO) of systems utilizing LOTO procedures, piping and instrumentation diagrams and drawings,

  • Work in close proximity to hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam, and moving machinery/equipment.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Oregon, which is $52,990 to $98,410 for MT3 level and $64,820 to $120,380 for MT4 level. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
