Experience Required: Previous custodial experience preferred
Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma/GED
Direct Supervisor: Facilities Manager
Primary Work Location: Various County buildings
Physical requirements: This is operative work requiring the exertion of up to and exceeding 50
pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move
objects. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand sometimes on uneven surfaces;
in addition, occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Certification: Valid driver's license
Job Summary
Provide custodial and general maintenance services for County properties.
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do all of the following essential duties:
- Clean assigned facility according to prescribed daily, weekly and monthly schedule
- Perform tasks including but not limited to floor scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, window
washing, picking up and removing trash, cleaning, and sterilizing bathrooms, changing
light bulbs, cleaning and wiping down counters and various surfaces, filling product dispensers
- Order and organize custodial supplies
- Set up for events as needed
- Assist in the maintenance and general repair of County buildings by performing minor
repairs, as needed
Knowledge
- Cleaning and maintenance
- Principles and processes for providing customer service
Skills
- Some mechanical aptitude
- Monitor/Assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make
improvements or take corrective action
Abilities
- Follow oral and written instruction
- Regular work attendance is required
- Attention to detail
