Position: Line Cook

Immediate Supervisor: Back of House Manager

Wage Information: Hourly (Typically 35-40 hours per week)

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills required.

  • Must be adaptable and willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must pass an extensive background check in accordance with Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain a required gaming license.

  • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly preferred.

  • Must be physically capable of:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Balancing and carrying heavy items.

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.

  • Ability to remain calm and productive in high-pressure environments.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with prep cooks and wait staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing menu items to guest specifications, ensuring consistent quality and presentation, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is physically and mentally demanding, requiring stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with kitchen and service staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare food to exact guest order specifications.

  • Finalize and present dishes in accordance with plating standards.

  • Exhibit a strong understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment.

  • Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines at all times.

  • Label, date, and properly rotate all stored food items.

  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation.

  • Self-motivate and work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Report any equipment issues to management promptly.

  • Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.

  • Perform repetitive tasks with consistency and precision.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Wash hands frequently in accordance with Health Department standards.

  • Communicate effectively with team members.

  • Demonstrate basic skills in math, reading, writing, and computer use.

  • Utilize strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

  • Practice safe work habits and follow all workplace safety procedures.
