Janitor

Job Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the manufacturing facility, including production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and offices. This role ensures a safe and hygienic environment for all employees and visitors. The position reports to the Facilities Supervisor and supports site-wide operations at the Leitchfield Manufacturing Plant. Primary hours are 7am-3:15pm CST.

Job Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and office spaces.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in production and common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
• Maintain janitorial equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks as directed.
• Respond to spills and other cleaning emergencies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support housekeeping standards in production areas.
• Demonstrate respectful and professional behavior in all interactions

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums).
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to wear the required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Must maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
