Job Title: Housekeeping Specialist
Job Description
Join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in an extended stay rehabilitation hospital. As a Housekeeping Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities
Clean and dust all offices, brick house, lobby, visitor's areas, bathrooms, and elevators.
Maintain cleanliness in medical rooms, nurse's stations, hopper rooms, nourishment stations, and bathrooms.
Dust, mop, strip, refinish, and buff floors across various areas, including the basement and stairwells.
Operate floor machines such as vacuum cleaners, sweepers, and sport cleaners as needed.
Collect and empty trash, clean trash containers, and empty barrels.
Disinfect areas with germicidal detergents and replenish supplies as necessary.
Clean and polish fixtures, furniture, vents, and mirrors.
Vacuum reception area and main entrance.
Change window and cubicle curtains.
Clean and disinfect beds, turn mattresses, and clean each unit upon discharge or transfer.
Wash walls, window screens, and other surfaces as needed.
Defrost and clean refrigerators, ensuring temperature control between 38-45 degrees.
Clean laundry room floors and collect soiled linen for processing.
May be required to move furniture and clean outside areas.
Perform special assignments such as cleaning beauty shops and maintaining housekeeping closets.
Report any needed repairs to the maintenance supervisor.
Adhere to work and time schedules while maintaining a neat and tidy appearance.
Essential Skills
Ability to clean properly and efficiently.
Proficiency in operating cleaning machines.
Understanding of cleanliness and aseptic conditions.
Capability to learn and perform various housekeeping tasks.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in custodial or janitorial roles is advantageous.
Familiarity with medical or hospital facility cleaning standards.
Experience with waste transportation and sanitization processes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.35 - $16.35/hr.
