The Receptionist receives staff, visitors, and visitors and/or patients, assists or redirects them, and performs clerical job duties. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. Children's Place Only: Adheres to DHS and NAEYC standards as appropriate based on the level of child/family contact this position requires. The Receptionist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serves customers efficiently and resourcefully in a manner that will positively affect customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness
  • Receives staff, visitors and vendors and assists or directs them accordingly
  • Answers telephones, makes appointments, and performs other basic and general clerical job duties associated with the department
  • May perform other department specific duties, such as: basic accounting, filing, collecting payments, preparing charge forms, or balancing cash funds/accounts

For Children's Place Only:

  • Required to care for children ages 6 weeks-6 years for brief periods of time.

For Realty only:

  • Required to generate work orders, close completed work orders and generate monthly report

Reports to the assigned supervisor/manager/director.

Normal office environment. If in clinical department, potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Must follow standard precautions.

Children's Place only: Health risks include probable exposure to diseases transmitted by airborne, respiratory, and/or contact routes; often works in an environment filled with items (toys, small furniture, etc.) providing numerous opportunities for slipping and falling. Exposed to frequent noise up to 90 decibels. No provision of adult size furniture in childcare classroom. Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. Changes soiled diapers and clothing on occasion.

  • 1 year clerical or receptionist experience
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English

For PACER and Children's Place only:

  • 18 years of age
  • CPR Certification

For Security Department only:

  • 1 year of clerical or receptionist experience is not required
