POSITION 26S11 TITLE: Cook II (half-time)

LOCATION: Glen Dale Elementary

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: A cook is charged with the responsibility of working within the framework of the Child Nutrition Program of the school and the county. A cook will be assigned specific duties under the direction of the building principal or his/her designee.

Specific duties may include:

  1. Aid in the preparation and serving of meals while operating and cleaning commercial food service equipment.

  2. Help to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, serving areas, storage areas, etc.

  3. When instructed, train substitute and/or new cooks in job duties at current location.

  4. Any other duties of a food service nature directed by the building principal or county supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass the West Virginia service personnel test for cook. Must complete West Virginia fingerprinting and background check. Cooks must keep their WV Food Handler's card current. A cook employed within the Marshall County School System should exhibit high moral characteristics, a clean physical appearance, and a friendly, cooperative personality. A cook will be called upon to perform a variety of tasks requiring good physical health and development occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds while performing duties.

EMPLOYMENT TERM: Anticipated start date of September 2, 2025. (Normal contract: 200 days, normally 10:00 am - 1:30 pm).

SALARY: Salary to be determined by salary classification level, experience, and education according to schedule at . Pay grade B.
