This is a commission based position with flexible hours. We are searching for candidates with experience in managing and hosting events. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and willing to grow and learn within our young company. The responsibilities include reaching out to various businesses, apartment complexes, and small organizations to book private lunches, dinners, and happy hours at the restaurant. The candidate would be responsible for booking events, following up on leads, compiling BEOs, acting as liaison between Barbacana and the guest, and generally overseeing each event. Barbacana Restaurant is a casual fine-dining restaurant located in Downtown Houston. We focus on Houston Inspired Cuisine and offer an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, as well as a tasting menu option for dinner service. Barbacana is a small, family-owned establishment with a bright future. Helmed by Chef Christian Hernandez, whose career has taken him through various Michelin starred restaurants from New York City to Mexico City, Barbacana is one of the most promising new restaurants in Houston and has been recognized as such by various local and national publications. At Barbacana we have created a more sustainable restaurant model focused on employee retention and a low-waste kitchen.
