General Responsibilities:Under general supervision locate and repair leaks in the Distribution System with maximum efficiency and safety for the general public. Serve in a lead role in reference to the Utility Worker I regarding the efficient location and repair of leaks in the Distribution System.
Essential Job Functions:- Locate leaks and lines within Distribution System Responsible for promoting customer relationsRepair leaks on mains Responsible for replacing curb stops and copper installations Restore paving and concrete Install repair sleeves and split sleevesInstall bracing, blocking and strap fittings, pipes, valves cut and camp mains Operate heavy equipment such as pumps and pipe cutting hand tools, and air compressorsReplace and repair service line when necessaryTrack leak order tickets Reactivate or disconnect service for non-payment Report customers for illegally using water serviceReplace and install meter boxes as neededFlush mains and service lines after break has been repairedOperate all BWWB vehicles and heavy equipment as requiredCalculate the requirements and requisition concrete, road gravel, fill sand and asphaltResponsible for landscapingAbility to read valve map detail map and shut off water as neededAbility to use the jackhammer dailyMay be required to work an on-call schedule outside of normal schedule on a rotating basis as directedPerform other duties as directed

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications Valid Drivers License required Valid commercial driver's licenses (CDL) class A required ADEM Grade I Certification preferred Experience:Four years construction experience required; previous experience in leak repairs required. Basic Computer skills preferred; excellent customer relation skills and communication skills are a plus.
