Job Summary

Take orders and serve food and beverages in a professional manner to guests at tables in our casual dining restaurant.

Essential Job Duties

  1. Provide the highest level of customer service through courteous and professional serving of food and beverages. Project enjoyment of job to customers (and coworkers).
  2. Adhere to wait staff service standards.
  3. Promote teamwork by assisting coworkers with efforts to: clear, wipe off tables, and reset dining room tables; clean and organize work stations; maintain dining room supplies at desired levels; keep dining room-related equipment and furnishings in good clean condition.
  4. Pick refuse up off dining room floor, sweep, and mop floors as directed.
  5. Comply with sales transaction processing and reporting procedures for cash, credit cards, comps, discounts, coupons, gift certificates and room charges. Process gaming point redemption's purchases on the POS system utilizing guest’s Club Meskwaki card in accordance with established procedures. Adhere to Food & Beverage Variance Policy.
  6. Assume responsibility for complete food & beverage menu knowledge. Seek to provide customers with any/all requested information pertaining to the food being served.
  7. Take dirty silverware, tubs of dishes, and glassware to the dish room. Bring back clean tubs for dishes and bucket of solution for silverware.
  8. Replenishes supply of clean silverware, glassware and dishes.
  9. Perform assigned prep/side work as directed.
  10. Document product transfers and waste as directed.
  11. Comply with company and department tip reporting policies and procedures.
  12. Communicate and network effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
  13. Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
  14. Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Meskwaki Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  15. Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  16. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  17. Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.
  18. Comply with all departmental safety regulations

Supplemental Job Duties

  1. Assume responsibility for knowledge of all information in restaurant's Memo Book.
  2. Strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of casual dining restaurant operations with all work efforts.
  3. Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  4. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  5. Maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Substantial lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds will be required with occasional periods of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time. Requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, balancing, and pushing or pulling equipment. Some exposure to dining room related chemicals. Must wear tread safety shoes. Follow company and departmental appearance standard (i.e. wear approved uniform; no extreme hairstyles or jewelry; clean hands, fingernails and hair; No offensive or excessive tattoos visible to guests; no chewing gum or smoking cigarettes while working; no nail polish or overpowering colognes; etc.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences : Must be at least 18 years of age. Some previous wait staff experience preferred. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities : Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with other members of the staff and guests. Must be able to read and understand written policies, procedures, etc. Must be able to effectively communicate with fellow staff members. Must be reliable, courteous and friendly and be able to work directly with the general public. Must be flexible with shift and days off. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and
education requirements.

Preference : Members of the Meskwaki Nation and other Native American Tribes who are qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will be given preference in accordance to established procedures.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
