Overview Florida Memorial University is seeking a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join our dynamic Dining Services team. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking delicious and nutritious meals for the college community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook diverse menu items following recipes. Manage a cooking station, ensuring timely ingredient preparation. Monitor food quality, adjust as needed, and maintain a clean workspace. Assist in inventory control, reporting shortages, and minimizing waste. Collaborate with the kitchen team, chefs, and dining staff for smooth operations. Qualifications Proven experience as a line cook or similar role. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to handle a high-volume setting. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Stand for entire shift. Lift up to 40 lbs regularly. Perform repetitive tasks (chopping, slicing, mixing). Use knives and kitchen tools safely. Bend, reach, and stoop frequently.
