Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant

Meadowview of Johnston, a Cassia community, is looking for a Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant to join our team! No prior senior care experience necessary! In this role, you'll be responsible for keeping our lovely facilities in great shape and contributing positively to our residents' lives.

Position Type: Full-Time working a varied schedule including weekends

Pay: $22 / hour

Shifts Available: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Location: 5555 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA 50131

Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provides carpet and floor care in residents rooms and common areas.
• Disposes of trash from common areas and resident rooms.
• Additional duties may include cleaning windows, moving and arranging furniture.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Follow scheduled maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job related instructions.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Painting walls, paint retouches, and other related tasks .
• Perform other duties as requested.

Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Prior custodial and maintenance experience.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
