Position Summary:

Perform repairs and provides direction to employees in the preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and the organization's physical housing and education facilities.

To protect the safety of the individuals we support and staff, Springbrook requires new employees to be current on all recommended vaccinations, including but not limited to: COVID-19.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnostics and repairs to buildings/equipment.
  • Performs installation, repair and maintenance Plumbing; Heating & Air Conditioning; Electrical; Carpentry; Masonry.
  • Documents details of project completion.
  • Provides reasonable care and maintenance and assumes accountability for assigned, issued and/or checked-out tools, equipment and/or vehicles.
  • Performs all activities in accordance with the latest job safety practices.
  • Generates estimates of labor, time, costs, and materials for the completion of assignments.
  • Ensures inventory is maintained; requisitions, assigns, and tracks materials.
  • Needs may include but are not limited to: snow removal, including shoveling, plowing, lawn mowing, trimming and leaf removal.
  • Maintains work area, equipment and tools in proper order and with care.
  • May be responsible to supervise others.
  • Availability for maintenance on-call as necessary/ directed.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • High school or GED required. Graduation from an accredited technical/vocational program or school preferred.
  • Five (5) years' experience in maintenance and/or construction with progressive responsibility.
  • Significant working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical trades.
  • Significant knowledge of standard practices, processes and material involved in trades related to building maintenance.
  • Significant ability and experience in scheduling, planning and inspecting work assignments and projects.
  • Extensive ability to quickly troubleshoot maintenance issues.
  • Strong ability to make accurate estimates of time and materials required for repair and maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing and HVAC/electrical systems, boilers, and power generators.
  • Good ability to maintain records.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the facilities and physical plant requirements of a diverse organization.
  • Strong judgment and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, customers, vendors and tenants.
  • Ability to work extended hours and be on-call, as needed.
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds in a safe manner.
  • Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
