Groundskeeper

Staffmark is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to join the facilities team at a prestigious school campus in Charleston, SC. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with landscaping experience who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining beautiful grounds.

Pay Rate: $19 - $23/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM

As a Groundskeeper, you'll be responsible for the upkeep of the school's lawns, athletic fields, trees, and landscaped areas. You'll operate hand and power tools to perform grounds maintenance, and you may also assist with setting up and breaking down events, including tents, tables, and chairs.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain lawns, sports fields, plantings, trees, and paved areas across the campus
• Operate landscape maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with setup and cleanup for campus events
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and departmental policies
• Follow instructions from the Grounds Manager, Plant Manager, or Director of Facilities
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements:

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Proficient in the safe use of landscaping equipment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization, and herbicides (preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in landscape maintenance or construction
• Valid South Carolina driver's license with acceptable driving record
• High school diploma preferred but not required
• Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including frequent lifting, walking, bending, and standing
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
