The Arizona Country Club is active golf, social and family-oriented Private Club conveniently located between downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale in the historic Arcadia district. The Club's origins date back to 1909 when a six-hole golf course was constructed. The course was relocated and expanded to 18 holes in the 1920s. In 1946 the Club was incorporated and the course was redesigned and reshaped and became the premier club in the Valley. The Club hosted the Phoenix Open in alternate years from 1955 to 1973 and produced many great champions including Palmer, Casper, and Venturi.

Job Summary

Park automobiles for members and guests in parking lot. Greet and assist all members and guests entering or exiting the building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect names of members and guests using valet, locate vehicles, and deliver vehicles.
• When necessary, provide customers with instructions for locating vehicles.
• Direct motorists to parking areas or parking spaces during large events using hand signals or flashlights as necessary.
• Park and reclaim automobiles for club members in parking lots, garages, or other designated parking areas.
• Welcome club members and vehicles and open car doors.
• Open the front door of the building for members and guests as the enter and exit the building.
• List and remove barricades to open or close parking areas.
• Inspect vehicles prior to parking to detect any damage.
• Support country club as needed.
• Special projects as assigned by management.

Education & Experience:

High-school graduate or GED equivalent required. Must have a valid driver's license. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in a country club setting preferred. Must have working knowledge of automobile driving and parking.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person with attention to comprehending information. Excellent oral communication skills as well as understanding written communication in work related documents. Time management and independent thinking skills are a must. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working, have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Performing movements which require considerable movement of arms, legs and moving entire body including running, maneuvering and navigating inside and outside of vehicles. Must be able to work outdoors in various temperatures, work directly with the public performing services. Job requires exposure to exhaust and other pollutants as well as exposure to all weather conditions. Must be able to work in an open area with other employees.

Base Compensation: $16 per hour

Hours: 24-30 hours per week
