Job Summary

Drives standards and is the expert at the wxyz including Brand Health, Northwood, and Health Department policies. Provides customized beverage service to each and every W xyz customer in a friendly, energetic and timely manner. Responsible for assuring the guest is having a great time and/or relaxing while in the area. Lead Wxyz Talent is passionate about guest service and posses the abilities to communicate effectively and multitask. The ideal Wxyz Lead Talent takes ownership of their situation and follows up on every request. They are always attentive and are committed to making Wxyz an "experience" instead of just a drink.

Pay Rate: $10.00 - $11.00

Job Duties

  • Ensure every guest is greeted and orders are taken and executed right away. Use LEAST method to respond to any customer concerns immediately. Works to develop a repeat customer base.
  • Train new wxyz bar talent and set the example on all service standards; Aloft, NW, Health and North Carolina Liquor laws.
  • Works directly with wxyz talent to bring out their best. Ensures all w xyz talent is meeting standards and corrects and coaches them when they are not.
  • Places all liquor, beer, wine and wxyz food orders and communicates check needs to AGM
  • Conducts monthly inventory and ensures weekly inventory list is updated and turned into AGM
  • Assists AGM in reviewing cost and sales analysis reports to ensure bar is maximizing potential and minimizing costs
  • Is responsible for implementing changes to food, liquor, beer, wine and cocktail menus ensuring product is up to date and consistent with POS system
  • Ensures wxyz is stocked with all items, including food, LBW, bar serve ware. Communicates to AGM on any additional needs.
  • Acts as a leader behind the bar and takes responsibility for smooth operation of bar during open hours, this includes ensuring consistency in completing all checklists and adhering to standards.
  • Assists AGM with employee scheduling for bar each week based on hotel/ event demand. Is flexible in adjusting scheduling to meet business needs.
  • Control guest checks, secure proper payment and validate ID of all patrons. Adhere to standards for guest credit card and information security.
  • Communicate shift activity, notes and nightly situations through a bar communication log and/or email to AGM
  • Participate in all shift duties such as but not limited to, preparing and serving food & drinks, cleaning, stocking bar product and working as a team with fellow bar staff, temporary help, and all hotel employees.

Note: May be assigned additional duties by supervisor or manager

Education and Experience

  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • One year of high volume beverage service and customer service experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • TIPS Certification
  • ServSafe Certified

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, talk, hear, see, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 75 lbs.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme. Temperatures like freezers (-10F) and kitchens (+110F), possibly for one hour or more
  • Must be able to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
