Senior Custodian

LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, Bohlen Technical Center, Watertown, New York STARTING DATE: As soon as possible SHIFT: 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM SALARY: Annual Salary: $42,000-$47,500 pro-rated from start date, commensurate with experience in keeping with the current agreement. DUTIES: The work involves responsibility for overseeing and participating in efficient and Economical cleaning of office buildings and the maintenance of surrounding grounds.The work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level administrator allowing leeway for the use of independent judgement in keeping buildings up to approved standards of cleanliness. Direct supervision is exercised over the work of subordinate Custodians, Cleaners, and Groundskeepers. The incumbent does related work as required. Qualifications:

Graduation from a high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three years of experience in the maintenance or cleaning of buildings; OR

Five years of experience as described in (A) above; OR

An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Appointees will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of the job.

Applicant must meet civil service requirements and pass a civil service examination with results being reachable status.
