Handyman Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and service-oriented Handyman to join our building operations team for a 19-story luxury apartment community. The Handyman will be responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the property, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents and guests. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality service in a professional, luxury setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, and common areas (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliances excluding HVAC).
Respond promptly to resident service requests and complete work orders efficiently and courteously.
Conduct daily inspections of common areas, hallways, lobbies, elevators, and amenities to identify and address maintenance issues.
Trash/recycling removal and assist with cleaning when needed
Assist with preventative maintenance schedules and recordkeeping.
Support the Building Superintendent/Property Manager with special projects and capital improvements.
Maintain building tools, supplies, and inventory in an organized and safe manner.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors when outside services are required.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
Provide exceptional customer service to residents, upholding the buildings luxury standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman, porter, or maintenance technician in residential or commercial buildings; high-rise/luxury property experience preferred.
Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems (no HVAC required).
Ability to use basic tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete tasks on schedule.
Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and performing manual labor as required.
Flexible schedule and overnight availability for occasional after-hours emergencies
