Scott's Seafood on the River is looking to hire a cocktail server to work in the lounge area of the restaurant, weeknights and weekends. We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service skills to work in a fast paced environment who will be responsible for accurately taking orders, delivering food and drinks, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Cocktail servers also play a role in guest satisfaction by making recommendations, handling complaints, and ensuring a positive experience for all patrons.
Key responsibilities and duties of a cocktail server include:
- Taking and delivering food drink orders: Accurately recording and relaying orders and delivering orders to customers promptly and efficiently.
- Providing excellent customer service: Greeting guests warmly, offering recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
- Handling transactions: Processing payments, handling cash, and managing bills.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace: Ensuring the bar area and serving stations are tidy and well-stocked.
- Promoting the restaurant's offerings: Highlighting specials, suggesting drinks, and encouraging guests to return.
- Adhering to alcohol service laws: Checking IDs and ensuring responsible alcohol consumption.
- Addressing guest concerns: Handling complaints and resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
- Working as part of a team: Collaborating with other staff to ensure smooth service.
- Following established procedures: Adhering to restaurant-specific guidelines for service, dress code, and safety.
Skills and qualifications that are beneficial for cocktail servers:
- Strong customer service skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a friendly demeanor.
- Knowledge of beverages: Familiarity with different types of drinks, cocktails, and bar terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: Multitasking, handling pressure, and maintaining composure during busy periods.
- Point-of-sale (POS) system proficiency: Accuracy in processing payments and using MICROS POS systems.
- Physical stamina: The ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry trays with food and drinks.
- Adaptability and flexibility: Willingness to learn new things and adapt to changing situations.
- Compliance with alcohol service laws: Understanding and adhering to legal requirements for serving alcohol, RBS certified
- Teamwork and collaboration: Working effectively with other staff to provide excellent service.
This position is a part time roll, 3 days a week.
Nights, weekends, and holidays mandatory.
