The Spatolista is responsible for serving gelato with artistry and precision, maintaining cleanliness and order in the gelato case, and delivering a warm, knowledgeable, and memorable customer experience. This role blends front-of-house hospitality with back-of-house responsibilities like presentation, serving technique, and quality control.

Serve with Style

Use a traditional spatola to sculpt each serving into something intentional and beautiful, while maintaining the standard serving size and paying close attention to getting it right every time

Own your strong forearms and show off how fun it is to make gelato look delicious

Learn our full flavor menuknow what's in each one, which are dairy-free, which pair well, and how to pronounce them with confidence

Keep the case looking fresh and folded, continually pushing gelato forward so every flavor looks inviting from open to close

Create the Joy

Greet every guest with enthusiasm and warmth and do a little bit more than normal to make it feel human

Share flavor stories, ingredients, and pairing tips

Make people feel goodseriously, what's better than gelato?! You know how to share your enthusiasm for our product and help it bring a smile to our guest's faces

Focus on the guest experience, the team, and the space around you to find new ways to create more joy

Keep the Case and Shop Pristine

Monitor texture and temperature throughout your shiftknow what right looks like

Wipe drips, clean edges, and monitor texture throughout your shift so every guest gets our best

Clean front and back of house throughout shift to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness so our guests can have the joyful experience they deserve

Perform all opening, mid-day, and closing tasks as outlined

Create the Best Team Experience

Work hand-in-hand with our Gelatistas (Gelato Chefs) to uphold our standard of beautiful presentation and joyful service

Restock cups, cones, napkins, spoons, and other displays as needed

Solicit and communicate guest feedback to the manager and/or Gelatistas

Requirements

Commitment to making things funfor guests and teammates alike

High attention to detailyou notice when the napkin holder's low or the spoons need straightening and take ownership over making things right

Willingness to learn, work hard, and have a good time doing it

Enjoy speaking with people and have a high level of enthusiasm, especially when it comes to gelato!

Personal devices should not be used for extended periods of time during working hours, except for authorized work-related uses

Valid Food Handler's Card (or willingness to obtain one by start date)

Reliable transportation in alignment with your work schedule

Additional Terms

Pay Rate: $14.00 plus tips, with opportunities for raises based on performance

Employment Status: Part-Time

Pay Date is every other Friday
