Job Description
Responsible for operating the switchboard/reception area, provides designated information to students and general public. First point of contact in an emergency and contact to dispatch AOC's (Administrator on Call).
This is part-time 20 - 25 hours per week within the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., with a max of 4 hours per shift daily and the work schedule to be determined upon placing the right candidates. Flexible work schedule is preferred.
Required Qualifications
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, have current computer skills, be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, students and the general public; have a clear speaking voice, have the ability to multitask, and be able to be flexible when handling several requests at a time.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
SalaryStarting $13.71 hourly
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Operates switchboard/receptionist area:
Receiving and placing calls.
Routes calls accurately and efficiently.
Greets and directs visitors.
Gives information in response to inquiries and forwards messages as needed.
Reports telephone or connection disorders to both the Help Desk and supervisor.
Keeps an up-to-date list of staff and numbers.
Maintain switchboard manual with up-to-date information which would be available for any relief of operators and work-studies.
Create and update Opti signs digital slide show.
Helps customers with and maintains petty cash for vending machines.
Operates the Informa Cast program for Emergency Notification.
Assists as backup for maintaining calendar of events scheduled in campus areas.
Maintains calendar for van reservations.
Assists as requested in sorting incoming and outgoing USPS mail.
Receives deliveries from outside sources. Prepares outgoing mail for pick up from outside sources (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
Is committed to providing quality service; meets or exceeds expectations of internal and external customers.
Assists students, faculty, and staff through a variety of tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
