Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Receptionist for a rapidly growing healthcare technology company innovating outpatient specialty workflows. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position with a preference for onsite work in San Francisco, CA, though U.S. based remote candidates will be considered.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Receptionist with experience in specialty medications such as Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG), Subcutaneous Immunoglobulin (SCIG), Hemophilia treatments, or Specialty Pharmacy. This role will be patient-facing and process-oriented, focusing on triaging referrals, patient scheduling, and coordination with clinical and pharmacy teams. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-centered, and familiar with specialty therapy workflows in outpatient settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Triage incoming patient referrals related to specialty therapies
Communicate with patients to schedule appointments and answer basic care-related questions
Coordinate with clinical teams and specialty pharmacies to facilitate timely treatment starts
Monitor documentation and intake requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness
Track the progress of prior authorizations and benefits verification handled by internal teams
Utilize custom-built coordination platform to manage and document workflows
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience as a medical receptionist or coordinator in environments handling IVIG, SCIG, Hemophilia, or other specialty medications
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently across multiple teams and platforms
Comfort in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
Tech-savvy and adaptable to new tools and systems
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity offering a competitive hourly wage of $38/hr-$44/hr, depending on location, experience, and performance. Benefits may be offered upon conversion to a permanent role. Remote employees will receive company-issued laptops, and all necessary equipment will be provided to onsite staff.
