Check-in and check-out guests and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all SOPs and LSOPs.

Essential Functions:

  • Handle guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Pre-register, block reservations and take same day reservations and when necessary future reservations following hotel rate structures, discounts, and sell strategies.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs in accordance with hotel credit and cash handling policies in an efficient and friendly manner.
  • Resolve customer complaints; assist customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, in-house events, directions, local attractions, check cashing, safety boxes, etc.
  • Cancel room reservations according to procedures.
  • Walk customers in a professional and courteous manner according to procedures.
  • Audit, balance, and report on all outlets (e.g. restaurants, banquets, room service, golf shop, rooms, front desk) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to settling credit cards, verifying user cash data, house account charges, postings, etc. and reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information. (20%)
  • Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, to ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed. (20%)
  • Audit, balance and prepare, verify, and report on Room statistical information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing. (10%)
  • Prepare and input revenue and settlement statistics for the preparation of daily reports. (20%)
  • Run night audit final after insuring all revenues are in balance nightly. (10%)
  • Perform the duties of a Front Desk Clerk including express checkouts. (10%)

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Experience: Experience required by position is from three months to one full year of employment in a related position with this Company or other organizations.

    Skills and Abilities: Requires a working knowledge of the Front Desk aspect of Interstate's services, policies or operations and a general knowledge of the hotel. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. Requires knowledge of and ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system. Ability to read and speak English. Second language is preferred.
