The Role:

At Vandell, hospitality is a shared mindset. While each team member has specific responsibilities, we work as a unified group to deliver a seamless memorable guest experience whether youre behind the bar, serving a table, or polishing glassware.

As a bartender at Vandell, you are both a host and a technician expected to provide exceptional service, execute drinks consistently, and embody the culture of our space. We're looking for individuals who are passionate about cocktails, team-driven, curious, and motivated to help build something special.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high volume cocktail driven bar or restaurant
  • Strong working knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails
  • A thoughtful and hospitality-driven approach to service
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume, cocktail-focused bar
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Confidence in juicing, batching, syrup-making, and prep
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar
  • A calm presence with a sense of urgency
  • Curiosity and excitement to learn and grow within a team
  • Knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and NA options
  • Familiarity with DOH health and safety standards
  • Current ServSafe or RBS certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, serve, and discuss cocktails, wine, beer, and NA beverages with confidence
  • Maintain bar prep: syrups, juices, batches, garnishes
  • Set up and break down the bar each shift with care and efficiency
  • Monitor product quality and communicate needs with management
  • Engage guests warmly and professionally whether regulars or first-timers
  • Follow opening/closing sidework and par lists
  • Participate in general cleanliness and organization of the bar and shared spaces
  • Work collaboratively with servers, support staff, and kitchen team
  • Stay current on all menu items, seasonal offerings, and bar updates
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, support, and excellence

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching during service
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($17.87) plus tips
