Baker - Part Time

Looking for an applicant who can work 20-30 hours a week including morning and every other weekend. Applicant must be 18 years old or older to be qualified for this position.

Summary

Mackenthun's Bakers are responsible for the creation and baking of all bakery products.

Mackenthun's Bakers promote Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting every customer with a smile and assist customers with questions about Mackenthun's, Mackenthun's Bakery and Bakery products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Mackenthun's Bakers are expected to proof and bake products consistently throughout their shift.

Measure, pour, mix and remove product from ovens; cut, slice, and package product.

Help unload and store deliveries.

Help plan and participate in sales events.

Monitor inventory and assist in ordering ingredients.

Clean work areas, bakery shelving and displays, wash dishes and practice proper safe-handling of food products and personal safety.

Maintain proper sanitation in the department at all times.

Other Duties

Participate in selling events.

Assist with seasonal decorations and displays.

Take customer orders for Bakery products.

Will be cross-trained to assist with donut frying, cake decorating, and other areas of the Bakery department, as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Must be skilled in basic math.

Previous baking experience preferred.

Food Manager License required, may be obtained after hire.

Must be a positive and creative trend setter with excellent customer service, problem solving and decision making skills.

Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write English language. Must be able to respectfully and professionally communicate with managers, co-workers and customers.

Must be honest and dependable, able to work independently and as a team member.

Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Have an interest in selling food and a desire to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's has to offer, in particular Mackenthuns Signature items.

Provide supervision as needed to ensure excellent customer service and personal productivity.

Minimize department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage and spoils.

Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources, and image.

Physical Demands

Constant standing/walking/talking/hearing/seeing/ready to respond to department needs at any time during work shift.

Frequent repetitive motions, bending at the waist, reaching arm's length/above shoulders/below waist, crouching, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs plus lifting 60 lbs. and pulling/pushing up to 1500 lbs. with use of pallet jack.

Position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.

Training

Training provided on Mackenthuns Bakery Standards and processes for mixing, proofing and oven skills, including exclusive Mackenthuns recipes, Food Safety, Personal Safety, Harassment Prevention, and hands-on training within the Bakery Department.

Work Environment

Must be able to work with and around machine noise, in hot and cold temperatures, on terrazzo flooring, in a smoke-free facility in a team oriented, multi-faceted and fast paced environment.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
