Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced and creative Chef to lead our kosher fish restaurant kitchen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing innovative fish-based dishes that respect kosher standards, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and training staff to maintain consistency and excellence. This role requires strong leadership, creativity, and attention to detail.
Key ResponsibilitiesMenu Development & Innovation:
Create unique, seasonal, and culturally authentic kosher fish dishes.
Adapt menus to align with customer preferences and dietary requirements.
Quality Control:
Ensure all food served meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and kosher compliance.
Monitor freshness, portion sizes, and consistency of dishes.
Staff Training & Leadership:
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high culinary standards.
Oversee proper kitchen procedures, food handling, and safety protocols.
Operations & Compliance:
Work closely with the mashgiach (kosher supervisor) to guarantee compliance with kosher laws.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the kitchen.
Control food costs and minimize waste through smart inventory and purchasing practices.
Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a kosher or seafood-focused restaurant.
Strong understanding of kosher dietary laws and restrictions.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
