Position open until filled TITLE: Cook REPORTS TO: Food Service Director HOURS: Full Time (192 days) Target Range School District seeks a Cook to assist in all aspects of the district's Child Nutrition Program (CNP) operation. The job functions include assisting with food preparation, serving of meals, maintaining a clean kitchen, dishwashing and other duties to meet the nutritional needs of children. General Function and Scope The cook will be expected to have an interest in the cooking process and be comfortable working inside a commercial kitchen. This includes using all kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, warmers, blenders and mixers as well use kitchen tools like sharp knives and measuring utensils. This job requires that the person complete recipes efficiently from start to finish and be able to multitask. The cook must desire to work in a team environment, take initiative to offer help and be willing to ask for help. Food safety and sanitation is critical so the ideal candidate will be self-motivated to practice precautions according to the kitchen guidelines.
