POPPYS FOH BARISTA JOB DESCRIPTION

Using the highest quality ingredients + professional service standards, Poppys has grown to include a community focused cafe + market, a catering company + an intimate event venue. Poppys is a woman-owned business founded in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.

We are currently hiring for part time employment, seasonal employment + on call help!

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum commitment of working 3 days per week
Must have open availability + work weekends
Great Barista skills + familiar with operating espresso machines
Positive attitude + great sense of urgency
Interest in food + hospitality
Must have high attention to detail
Great time management skills
Team focused
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
Handles high volume with ease
NYC Food Handlers Certification or willingness to obtain this within the the first few
months of working
Must be able + comfortable lifting up to 20lbs

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Working behind the counter + maintaining the retail floor (pastry case, service bar, outside seating area, retail shelves, cold cases)
Provide excellent customer service
Remaining informed + up-to-date on our brand identity + offerings to act as great brand
ambassadors
Working alongside Shift Leads & Management to maintain overall store operations
Maintaining cleanliness by Poppys + NYC DOH standards
Reporting any customer feedback or issues that arise during the shift to Shift Leaders
and/or GM
Uphold a FIFO label + date system especially for perishable items
Enter + update inventory numbers daily for our pastries + savory food items
Processing online orders
Accounting for waste

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS
Starting $16 - $19/hr (depending on experience) Plus Generous Tips
