Houseperson

Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor / Housekeeping Manager
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Summary:

The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by maintaining the cleanliness and order of public areas, delivering guest requests, and ensuring housekeepers have the necessary supplies to perform their duties. This role is essential to upholding the overall guest experience through cleanliness, efficiency, and timely service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain all public areas (lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, restrooms).

  • Assist room attendants by collecting dirty linens and trash from guest floors.

  • Restock housekeeping closets and carts with supplies and clean linens.

  • Deliver requested items (e.g. extra towels, cribs, rollaway beds) to guest rooms promptly.

  • Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and clean windows in public spaces.

  • Set up and break down meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.

  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.

  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and seasonal cleaning tasks.

  • Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors or hotel management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior hotel or housekeeping experience is a plus but not required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

  • Physically demanding: lifting, pushing carts, bending, walking long distances.

  • Indoor and occasional outdoor work.

  • May require early morning or evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
