JOB SUMMARY
The Lead EVS - Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) housekeeping team to maintain the cleanliness and overall presentation of the gaming facility. This role ensures that all tasks are performed in accordance with established health, safety, and sanitation standards while supporting a high level of guest satisfaction. The Lead EVS works hands-on while coordinating, training, and directing other EVS team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, assign, and monitor the daily tasks of EVS team members to ensure timely and effective cleaning throughout the facility.
- Train new EVS team members and provide ongoing coaching and guidance.
- Ensure all public and operational areas including restrooms, gaming floors, lobbies, and offices are cleaned and sanitized according to schedule.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to standards and report findings to management.
- Assist with the scheduling of staff and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal as needed.
- Replenish supplies and ensure housekeeping carts and closets are fully stocked.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning tasks, equipment maintenance, and incident reports.
- Ensure safe use and proper storage of all cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and supply shortages to management.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to company policies among staff.
- Assist with special projects and deep cleaning assignments as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
- Ensure team compliance with safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate leadership under pressure.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- A minimum of 1 year of housekeeping or custodial experience is required; supervisory experience is preferred.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, speak, hear, and use hands and arms. The role may involve bending, lifting, and moving objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
The work environment ranges from quiet (office) to loud (gaming floor), and the employee may be exposed to cigarette smoke and varying temperatures. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
