Sioux Falls Christian School seeks a dedicated, skilled MaintenanceWorker who embraces our Christ-centered mission and can activelysupport the schools physical campus through general repairs, preventativemaintenance, and collaboration with local contractors and vendors. Theideal candidate will display integrity, a servants heart, and a strong workethic, all while modeling Christlike character within our school community.Key Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repair duties throughout thecampus, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and basicgroundskeeping. Troubleshoot and respond to maintenance requests from staff in atimely and professional manner. Partner with and oversee local vendors and contractors forspecialized services (electrical, plumbing, roofing, etc.) to ensurequality and timely completion of work. Conduct regular inspections of the school building(s), systems, andgrounds to identify potential issues and ensure safe and efficientoperations. Maintain maintenance logs and records of repairs, inspections, andvendor interactions. Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal maintenanceprojects. Work collaboratively with administration and custodial staff to ensurea clean, functional, and welcoming environment for students, staff,and visitors. Support the schools mission by modeling Christian values in allinteractions with students, staff, and external partners.Qualifications A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with themission and values of Sioux Falls Christian School. Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities management, ora related trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technicaldocuments. Strong problem-solving and time management skills. Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly tomaintenance needs. Comfortable coordinating and communicating with local businessesand contractors. Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and vendorcommunications. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and performmanual labor as needed. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.Preferred Qualifications Formal training or certification in one or more maintenance trades. Experience working in a school, church, or ministry setting. Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.Work Environment Regularly exposed to typical school environments includingclassrooms, outdoor spaces, mechanical rooms, and roofs.
