Job Title Kitchen Assistant, Culinary - Jamestown - Federal Work Study Full Time/Part Time Job Description

The purpose of the position is to provide assistance to the Hospitality Education Kitchen Lab Technician in completing requisitioned food orders, maintaining kitchen sanitation, rotate and properly secure stock, food prep, and properly communicate issues with equipment by use of daily check lists.

Duties/Functions

• Food deliveries
• Stocking lab coolers and freezers for classes
• Maintaining records
• Maintaining Sanitation Standards
• Assist with special events
• Food preparation
• Maintain professional standards of GTCC and personal

Difficult Challenges

• Lifting up to 50lbs at one time
• Early day and Late day work
• Learning recipes
• Multi-tasking required

Contacts Education Required Education Preferred

• Some formal culinary training

Experience Required Experience Preferred

• Some kitchen food prep experience
• ServSafe Certified (Certificate in Sanitation Skills)
• 1-2 years of food prep.
• 1-2 years of sanitation in kitchens
