POSITION SUMMARY: The Event Planner is responsible for providing the Stroudsmoor clients with an enjoyable and stress-free atmosphere during the preparation and execution of their events.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responds to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Effectively manages all appointments and maintain accurate records.
  • Produces event revenue by maintaining the Event Team conversion rate of 45%.
  • Seeks out new ways to make the Stroudsmoor product far superior then the competitors.
  • Actively investigates new ideas to improve the quality of the Stroudsmoor product and increase revenue.
  • Participates in the development of sales tactics and event execution whenever necessary to ensure the continued growth of the Stroudsmoor event department.
  • Continually researches and maintains a fresh approach to touring clients who are considering alternative locations for their celebrations.
  • Provides information and insight into the many elements and services offered by the Stroudsmoor.
  • Supports other members of the Event Team including but not limited to the Bridal Registry, the Bridal Spa/Studio, Group Lodging, and the Floral and Décor Team.
  • Conducts event facility tours.
  • Works closely and respectfully with other members of the Event Team.
  • Reports any damages or theft of product/property by coworkers or customers.
  • The Event Planner must become proficient with the Sales & Catering Module of the Visual One Hospitality Software, including the appointment calendar, function book, booking creation, invoicing, and posting of deposits.
  • Attends rehearsal and wedding ceremonies.
  • When necessary, liaisons with other bridal professionals i.e. DJs, Photographers, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some formal hospitality training / education.
  • A minimum of 3 years in the hospitality industry.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • The ability to work in a Family-owned and operated business.
  • Motivated self-starter with customer friendly attitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Well-organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to prioritize projects.
  • Computer knowledge/skills including Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and hard working.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate with the front desk, custodial, kitchen and dining room managers / chefs to ensure the timely delivery of event information and continuity among all departments as it relates to the clients assigned to the Event Planner.
  • Follows the guidelines outlined by the Safety Committee.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available for all event promotions – Wedding Sampling, holidays and special events.
  • Flexible work schedule with respect to event volume and client needs.
