DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role serves as a semi-skilled worker tasked with the installation and upkeep of deer fencing, along with various responsibilities associated with the Regeneration Fund. Additionally, the position involves supporting the District's management foresters in overseeing the District's Forest Resources, ensuring adherence to the Forest Resource Plans, Timber Management Manual, and relevant Commonwealth laws. All operations will align with the policies and procedures set forth by the Forest District Manager, with direct supervision provided by the Forest Maintenance Supervisor. Approximately 75 percent of the work hours will be dedicated to activities related to the Forest Regeneration Fund; however, priority will also be given to other essential tasks, including Search & Rescue and fire suppression efforts, as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Seasonal, full-time employment without benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2026.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday, and 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Thursday, with 30-minute lunch.
This position may require travel and overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
