Head Chef

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team. We are a small 15 room fly fishing lodge located only 30 miles from West Yellowstone on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River in Island Park, ID. We offer a full bar and restaurant that will only operate with a very limited happy hour menu, happy hour from 3-5 and a simple dinner service from 5 pm to 10:30 pm. No Breakfast. housing is provided at no additional cost. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. Duties:

- Create and execute menus that meet the needs and preferences of our guests

- Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards

- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations

- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate banquet events and special functions

- Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving measures

- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings

Skills:

- Extensive experience in the food industry, preferably in a leadership role

- Strong culinary skills with expertise in menu planning and execution

- Excellent leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices

- Familiarity with inventory control procedures to minimize waste and maximize profitability

- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and customers

- Bartending experience is a plus
