About Us:

Black Cat Farm is a Michelin Green Star winning restaurant founded by Jill and Chef Eric Skokan on our own award-winning organic farm. We offer a truly immersive dining experience where guests enjoy multi-course tasting menus in stunning glass cabanas situated throughout our fields and gardens. Our ethos is built on a direct, tangible connection between the land and the table. We are not just farm-to-table; we are the farm. We seek a dedicated professional to join our team who can act as both a flawless server and a passionate storyteller for our unique culinary journey.

Position Overview:

As a Fine Dining Server & Farm Ambassador, you will be the primary guide for our guests' experience. This role extends far beyond traditional service; you are a culinary narrator, connecting diners to the story of our farm, the specific ingredients on their plate (often harvested just steps away), and the philosophy that drives us. You will provide technically proficient, intuitive, and graceful service in a setting unlike any other, ensuring every guest leaves with a profound and lasting memory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exemplary fine dining experience from arrival to departure, anticipating guest needs with poise and professionalism.

  • Develop and maintain an encyclopedic knowledge of our constantly changing, hyper-seasonal menus, including ingredients, farming techniques, and culinary preparation.

  • Articulately communicate the story of Black Cat Farm, Chef Skokans vision, and the specific details of each dish and its origin on the farm.

  • Execute wine and beverage service with precision, including proper presentation, decanting, and maintenance of glassware.

  • Work seamlessly with the culinary team and fellow front-of-house staff to ensure a harmonious and efficient service flow.

  • Maintain the elegant atmosphere of our unique dining cabanas, ensuring they are impeccably set and cared for throughout service.

  • Operate with a deep respect for the farm environment, navigating the natural landscape with care and professionalism.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of server experience in a fine dining, upscale, or Michelin-recognized restaurant environment.

  • Required Sommelier Certification:

    • Level 1 (or higher) with the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS), OR

    • Level 2 or Level 3 Award in Wines with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

  • A genuine and demonstrable passion for food, wine, sustainable agriculture, and the farm-to-table movement.

  • Exceptional storytelling ability and communication skills; must be comfortable and engaging when speaking with guests.

  • Polished, professional demeanor and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to remain calm and elegant under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Must be a collaborative team player with a strong, self-motivated work ethic.

  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and navigate the uneven terrain of a working farm.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Why Join Black Cat Farm?

This is a rare opportunity to work at the very source of an acclaimed culinary program. You will deepen your knowledge of food and wine by living the seasons on the farm, working directly alongside the growers and chefs who create our experience. If you are a dedicated hospitality professional looking to be part of a passionate, Michelin-recognized team and redefine what it means to connect guests with their food, we encourage you to apply.
