SUMMARY

Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, and use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets; paint structures and equipment.
  • Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replace damaged paneling and floor tiles; hang doors and install door locks; replace broken windowpanes; and perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Repair and adjust locks on doors, cabinets, and closets.
  • Perform minor maintenance on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units.
  • Exercise discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person.
  • Annotate and update work logs for specific site requirements.
  • Activate and deactivate building alarms and respond to alarm calls during and after regular work hours.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Must have basic reading and writing skills.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Skill and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry, and basic Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) tasks.
  • Basic computer skills and able to learn new systems.
  • Able to work effectively within a team.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Able to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work with others in a professional manner.
  • Abile to work in accordance with established safety procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in an office setting and or building but may also be performed in a maintenance facility. Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory if applicable. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires the ability to bend, reach, stretch, push, pull and stand for extended periods; climb ladders, lift heavy objects, operate medium weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, etc.; moving equipment, supplies, and furniture, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing; walking or standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

  • Pay: $37.39 per hour.
  • H&W: $12.39
