Position Supervisor: Andre Sylvester Department/Office: Performing Arts Center (PAC) Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour plus tips, 0 - 19.75 hours per week depending on department need and availability of funds. This position will gain marketable work experience by working with Yavapai College staff, Faculty and affiliates in a group effort to support the mission, goals and values of Yavapai College. The PAC Coffee House Barista will support the PAC in an effort to provide opportunities for cultural enrichment. The Coffee House Barista Office is open during the week and before/during scheduled shows. Duties include: Passionate about coffee, food and creating hospitality experiences in a team environment. Commitment to mastering our recipes and techniques as well as develop a knowledge base of specialty coffees and teas A successful candidate will demonstrate a high willingness to learn, punctuality, and strong customer service skills Following food safety, and sanitary procedures for all foods and drinks Taking customers food and drink orders and payments Operate a coffee and espresso machine Restocking Flexibility to complete various operational tasks Produces consistent products No experience required; experience preferred

Minimum Expectations & Requirements
  • All hiring documents must be completed prior to first work shift, including acceptable documentation for the I-9 Form
  • Basic cashiering and/or money handling, including processing cash, check, and credit card payment methods Ability to monitor patrons and determine appropriate level of assistance in the lobby/auditorium areas
  • Must be able to make quick and rational decisions in interacting with patrons while working independently and with other
  • Possess an active food handlers card
  • Exhibit patience and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate reliability and good customer service skills
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate time management and organizational skills
  • Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
  • Adhere to the code of confidentiality in certain cases where discretion should be used
  • Adhere to Yavapai College Code of Conduct as well as FERPA guidelines
  • Have a strong understanding of technology and the ability to use it effectively and efficiently
Essential Functions

The start date of this position will be determined by the hiring supervisor after an applicant is hired. This position has a standard end of assignment date of June 30th of the current aid year. Assignment may end sooner or be extended depending FWS eligibility, availability and/or department need. This position is employed by Yavapai College, unless otherwise noted in the above job description. Location of this position is noted in the above job description.
