General Summary
Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but no proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, ballasts and motors
- General Electrical: Replace lights, receptacles, breakers, ballasts, when needed in coolers, freezers and other areas, sales floor, backrooms, and bathrooms; Knowledge of test meter usage.
- replace batteries for local alarms such as at panic doors and Detex alarms, exit doors as needed.
- Back up Emergency Generator. PM Checklist to complete and make sure that the generator is operable.
- General Controls: Replace thermometers and sensors in coolers and freezers. Reset automatic door sensors.
- Miscellaneous: Check and fix miscellaneous items such as loose floor tile, kick plates, door bolts, door handles, damper in air handler unit; grease and perform minor maintenance on roll up doors; replace valves; replace oven seals; replace locks for internal doors.
- Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets and urinals. Clear plumbing line clogs with the use of snakes/drum machine.
- Paints structures and equipment.
- Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
- Replaces damaged paneling and floor and ceiling tiles.
- Hangs doors and installs door locks
- Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Knows how to read blue print/schematics
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
- **Must have and is required to have an enhanced Driver's License**
- GED or High School Graduate
- Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
- Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen
Work Environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, rain, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
