Position Summary:

We are currently hiring a Food Service Cashier at Scott Air Force Base in Mascoutah IL

Salary:$17.75

Shift: Part-Time

Schedule: Mon, Tues, Wed - 12:00pm (noon) - 7:00 pm & (Sunday 4:0pm - 7:30pm)

Hours: 15 - 20 - Hours weekly

Reporting to the Project Manager or his/her designee, the Cashier is responsible for performing food

service support in an environment which provides people who have different abilities opportunities to

work with integrated teams and receive work support as needed-achieving the highest level of

independence possible.

Performs cashier and food service duties at the assigned location. Completes sales transactions,

opens, and closes the cashier station. Prepares food service areas, cleans, and sanitizes, and serves

food. Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the

supervisor, and implementing feedback for improvement. Performs duties with a special focus on

safety, quality, and customer service

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Sales Transactions

  1. Accurately and efficiently completes all sales transactions and maintains proper cash at cash

registers. Performs operation of cash register/credit/debit machine. Accepts payment, including

cash transactions, and makes correct change. Processes debit/credit card payments using

equipment and ensures receipts and signatures are secured as required.

Cash Station Maintenance:

2.Opens and closes the cashier station to the customers in accordance with scheduled hours.

Responsible for accurate cash accounting and reporting.

Customer Service:

3.Support the Company's mission by providing a positive dining experience to customers.

Positively interacts with all customers--greets and acknowledges every visitor, answers

question, maintains outstanding standards, and maintains thorough product knowledge along

with all other components of customer service.

Work Area Maintenance:

4.Prepares the dining area by cleaning and sanitizing tables and chairs daily. Busses tables

throughout the shift. Cleans up spills and food from carpet as needed. Cleans microwaves daily

or as needed throughout the shift. Cleans and sanitizes the food service line, equipment, and

dining room. Empties trash containers as needed. Assist with performing daily, weekly, and/or

monthly deep cleaning of the kitchen, service area, and kitchen equipment such as counters,

tables, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, mixers, mobile carts, etc. Help set up/tear down service

area chairs and tables as needed

Employee Relations.:

5.Perform work according to the contract's statement of work, company policies, and procedures

with a special focus on safety, quality, and customer service. Follow schedules and/or task

assignments as directed. Help communicate job expectations to new-hires or others in need of

assistance. Assist with training and helping co-workers. Report issues and needs to Project

Manager. Implement feedback for improvement. Assist with building an effective company

culture that embodies our Company values to achieve optimum performance levels and achieve

goals and objectives.

Sitting: Occasionally sitting in the normal course of sedentary-type work.

Standing: Frequently standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting

Hearing, Speaking: Frequently listening to and speaking with managers, staff, and clients to

communicate about requests

Seeing: Continually visually alert to take orders, serve, make food, wipe, sweep,

mop, buss, avoid hazards, and wash dishes

Handling: Frequently using hands in pouring, refilling, wiping, serving, washing dishes

and cleaning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • 1+ years of past work experience handling money.
  • Currently possess or be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills required.
  • Background Checks: Must be able to pass criminal and state federal background checks as well as DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System Check.
