Job Duties
Responsibility / Duty
Provides support to the Custodial Manager by completing routine building walk throughs and determining custodial needs and inventory control. Also assist on large jobs and for multiple buildings, such as stripping, buffing, waxing entire buildings, setting up tables, chairs and other furniture for special meetings, or other functions.
Percentage Of Time 50 Responsibility / Duty
Performs many varied custodial tasks related to the upkeep of buildings and grounds as well as maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the buildings assigned.
Dust mop classrooms and hallways, wash chalkboards and clean trays, sweep and mop floors.
Strip and wax floors as needed using power scrubbing and buffing machines.
Clean offices and conference rooms, dust furniture, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Wash windows and walls, clean vents, scrub and wax hard surface floors.
Clean entry ways, wash glass windows, sweeping and mopping and waxing floors and cleaning mats.
Clean restrooms, sweep and mop floors, clean and sanitizing, washing and filling dispensers.
Empty trash receptacles in all areas of the building and place in dumpsters.
Mix commercial cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufactures label instructions, or as instructed by supervisor.
Clean sidewalks and steps, clean and maintain power equipment.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds or more.
Percentage Of Time 35 Responsibility / Duty
Assigned to various university building under the supervision of personnel in higher authority. Duties include, but not limited to, cleaning around outside of buildings and help to move furniture.
Percentage Of Time 10 Responsibility / Duty
Perform other task as required to meet the needs of the university and can be transferred to custodial assignments in other building temporarily or permanently.

Minimum Experience Required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.
