The Barista at The Elms Hotel & Spa plays a key role in providing warm, attentive, and personalized service to our guests. This position is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages, as well as light food items, in accordance with hotel standards. The Barista ensures a clean, welcoming environment and creates memorable guest experiences that reflect the service excellence of The Elms.

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other beverages.

• Provide friendly, engaging, and efficient service to all guests.

• Take and process guest orders accurately, including handling payments and operating the POS system.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café/barista station, including equipment and seating areas.

• Stock and replenish food, beverage, and paper supplies as needed.

• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times.

• Assist with hotel-specific beverage offerings, seasonal specials, and promotional items.

• Respond to guest inquiries about menu items and make recommendations as needed.

• Support Food & Beverage operations by assisting with other outlets as business needs require.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the department.

• Qualifications:

  • Previous barista, café, or customer service experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-focused approach.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic math and cash handling skills.

  • Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and espresso machines is a plus.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays.

  Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Lift, carry, and move items up to 25 lbs.

  • Use of hands and arms to operate equipment and prepare beverages.
