Causa/Amazonia are two Peruvian experiences from Chef Carlos Delgado, and Glendon Hartley and Chad Spangler from Service Bar. Causa will feature fresh ceviche, whole fish preparations, wood grilled anticucho, and an exploration of Peruvian coastal and Andes cuisine. Amazonia focuses on cuisine from the jungle, alongside native Peruvian staples.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing ingredients for the day, including washing, chopping, and marinating.
  • Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  • Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Ensuring food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
  • Complying with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
  • Assisting with inventory management and receiving supplies.
  • Working with team members to ensure a smooth service.
  • Handling, storing, and rotating all products properly.
  • Responding to customer preferences and dietary needs.
  • Participating in staff meetings and training as required.
  • Assisting in the development of menu items.
  • Continuously learning about new cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Strong candidates will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Culinary school diploma preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Precision and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
  • Good knife skills and the ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
  • Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift.
  • Capacity to work under pressure during peak hours.
  • Creativity for contributing to menu development.
  • Attention to detail for ensuring the quality and standards of dishes.
