POSITION TITLE: Restaurant Chef
LOCATION: Verona, NJ
COMPENSATION: $95-100K base + Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401(k)
SUMMARY: Our client is growing and seeking a hands-on Restaurant Chef to lead a co-kitchen for two adjacent dining concepts. This role is ideal for a driven, creative chef with experience in a single-unit, high-volume, scratch kitchen who is ready to take ownership of culinary operations and mentor a talented team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all back-of-house operations to ensure smooth service and consistency
Be a hands-on leader, setting the tone for quality, teamwork, and efficiency
Oversee budgeting, inventory, food costs, and waste control
Lead menu development and seasonal updates
Recruit, train, and retain top kitchen talent
Execute private dining and special events with excellence
Collaborate with ownership and FOH management to deliver exceptional guest experiences
Maintain kitchen standards for cleanliness, safety, and organization
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years in a Chef role, and background with high-volume, scratch kitchen, single-brand operations
Experience managing $4M+ in annual revenue preferred
Proven leadership and training ability; strong communicator with a team-first mindset
P&L and cost control experience required
Job stability with a strong track record of growth
Tech-savvy, organized, and driven by continuous improvement
Flexible schedule: must be available nights, weekends, and holidays
