Banquet Captain
We are seeking a meticulous banquet captain to coordinate all banquet events. You will be responsible for ensuring that banquet operations run smoothly by prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests.
Under the direction of the Events Director, the successful candidate can manage multiple streams of information while remaining calm in highly stressful situations. Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills a must.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and print distribution packets for Banquet Event Order meetings.
Create and print buffet and meeting room labels for upcoming meetings/events.
Request and coordinate cash bank for events as needed.
Assist in facilitating invoicing, billing, tax forms, deposits, and payments.
Creates server set-up lists.
Executing the setup of events according to the details on the Banquet Event Order.
Attends all events, in preparation before and assisting with cleaning up afterward.
Provides guidance and knowledge to the banquet staff with any questions during the shift. Communicate any additions or changes as they arise throughout the shift.
Work alongside Food and Beverage Managers to ensure event staff have the necessary training, including customer service and serving etiquette.
Tending to guests' requests, questions, and complaints.
Ensuring that the venue and facilities remain neat and clean.
Ensuring all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to and enforces club policies and procedures.
Any other tasks assigned by the Events Director.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
A degree in hospitality or similar is preferred.
At least 1 year of experience as a banquet captain or experience working at a private golf or social club.
Excellent leadership abilities and the ability to manage many staff members.
Great time management and multitasking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
The ability to provide excellent customer service, even in stressful situations.
Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and standing for long periods.
A willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays is a must.
Benefits:
Position compensation is $25 an hour
